The Irrepressibles release Sweet & Unique, a sensual, uplifting ode to individuality and desire, arriving just in time for spring and summer. The track channels the exuberance of 1960s rhythm & blues through Jamie Irrepressible’s signature blend of glam‑rock romanticism and queer punk flair, expanding the sonic universe of acclaimed album Yo Homo!.
Sweet & Unique features the voice and violin of Elliot Lyte, a classically trained contemporary violinist and Trinity Laban graduate best known as a founding member of viral ensemble Ember Trio. Bringing Lyte from his role as violinist in the band into a central vocal duet with Jamie adds a new dimension to The Irrepressibles’ sound and storytelling.

“It was great to bring Elliot to the centre from his position as violinist in the band to duet with him as a fellow gay man and let his wonderful singing voice take centre stage to The Irrepressibles audience. I love writing for his voice — he features on some of my other songs coming on future records. May his career as a vocalist begin!”
Fresh from SXSW 2026, The Irrepressibles took their electric live spectacle to Austin, Texas, performing two special sets that brought the swagger, joy and queer abandon of Yo Homo! to US audiences.
