The “Rock n’ Roll St. Brigid” Returns to School the Armchair Experts. Áine Duffy is a singer-songwriter, electric guitar playing belter who builds. After making headlines in The Irish Times, Self Build mag, RTE news and on the BBC for constructing her own mortgage-free passive home for just €12,500, she took her innovation to the road. She converted a vintage horsebox into the viral Duffbox mobile stage, followed by the custom-engineered, sustainable Duffbox 2.0. Now, the independent innovator is back with her new single: “KNOW IT ALL.”
‘I put these stories together into a song so people could have a bop while laughing at the’know-it-all’ epidemic that’s driving us all bonkers. It’s basically free therapy, because it’s hard to tell someone to whisht up to their face without being called a diva or offending them!’
Hopefully, it encourages them to take it handy—you don’t always have to prove you’re the smartest person in the room.’ Áine Duffy
Bitingly funny and unapologetically rocky, the track is a high-voltage reality check for the “couch foremen” and YouTube “engineers” who think they’ve mastered the trade because they’ve binge-watched Grand Designs. With a vocal that can tear down a room and the technical mind to build it back better, Áine Duffy isn’t just playing the game; she’s redesigning the stadium.
In August 2025, in protest about the lack of diversity in Irish music, Duffy organised an all-woman line up for a concert in Cork, and she continues to champion Irish independent artists with this year’s Don’t Touch My Knob tour.
Duffy explains: ‘Right – we’re still talking about the lack of females in Irish festivals and on radio. Grand. I thought we covered that with Don’t Touch My Knob, but apparently not. Seems the gatekeepers have noise‑cancelling headphones on.
So this time, I’m not asking. I’m showing. This tour is me doing what they said doesn’t exist.
The historians say if we keep going the way we’re going, we’ll lose the Irish accent altogether – maybe that’s the plan. Between the playlists going full American and the stages getting more predictable than a wet Monday, we’re barely whistling our own tunes anymore. There’s a harp on our passport for a reason. We don’t bow down. We make noise. So let’s stop acting like Ireland forgot how.’
