Cloud has released “In My Dream,” a new rock single out now on all streaming platforms. The Japanese guitarist and songwriter worked with Luis Gerardo Moreno on guitar and Alex DP on drums for this track.
Cloud has been impressing the scene in recent years and continues to do so with this release. “In My Dream” is a powerful rock song where the guitar builds throughout, getting louder at key moments across three sections.
The lyrics move between dreams and reality, between “in my dream” and “in my head.” Cloud explores the gap between how someone exists in your thoughts versus who they really are and manages to reflect how that tension feels.
This song expresses the two sides of dreams: the light and the dark. Dreams have the power to lift you to greater heights, but they also have the negative power to knock you down. Throughout our lives, we come to know the wonderful and cruel power of dreams.
“In My Dream” was also heavily influenced by the contrast between stillness and movement that Nirvana often used.
Moreno’s guitar playing and Alex DP’s drums help bring the song together, and the three musicians create an impact from the get-go.
