Furia, the Polish metal visionaries, are set to embark on a strictly limited tour of Poland with their acclaimed “Furia gra kino” (transl.: Furia plays cinema) project. Moving beyond traditional concert boundaries, the tour will visit five prestigious theatres and cinema spaces across the country this May.
Furia requires no introduction to fans of extreme music. For years, the band has consistently redefined the Polish metal scene, venturing into the National Old Theatre in Krakow for Jan Klata’s The Wedding, receiving a “Paszport Polityki” nomination, and most recently seeing their seminal album Księżyc milczy luty named the “Album of the 25th Anniversary” by Musick Magazine.
The “Furia Gra Kino” project was born last year in collaboration with the Silesia Film Institute to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Silesian Film Archive. Initially a strictly limited event that sold out instantly with no plans for a reprise, this tour represents an exclusive opportunity for audiences to experience this unique audiovisual spectacle.
“Furia Gra Kino” is an immersive journey into Silesia’s past and not just a live soundtrack. During the performance, Furia’s classic set, augmented by improvised sections, intertwines with archival film footage from the region, bringing “ghosts of Silesia” to life within the walls of selected cinema and theatre halls.
For the tour finale at Klub Studio in Kraków, the performance will be amplified using a d&b Soundscape immersive audio system. This state-of-the-art technology creates a fully spatialised and realistic sound image, allowing the audience to hear a multi-dimensional mix that maintains the precise directionality and proportions of instruments and voices on stage. Soundscape further allows for the application of acoustic signatures from world-renowned venues, ensuring a world-class listening experience in the heart of Krakow.
Please note: The event contains intense light and sound effects.
There will be no support acts on this tour. The film presentation will be accompanied by narration from Krzysztof Zawadzki, with live-image editing and visual interpretation by Bogna Przewoźniak, a long-time visual collaborator of the band.
The tour is organised by Iron Realm Productions.
