Narrenwind cover Darkthrone’s “Natassja in Eternal Sleep” in Polish

Following last year’s album release, “Gorzkie Plony” (“Bitter Harvest”), the Polish blackened heavy metal outfit Narrenwind return with a Polish-language cover of Darkthrone’s “Natassja in Eternal Sleep” from the 1993 album “Under a Funeral Moon”.

Ævil said: “Three years after the spontaneous recording of ‘Under the Funeral Moon’, I just as spontaneously suggested to Klimørh that we tackle another classic. This time it was a despair-filled declaration of love to a witch burned at the stake. Why Darkthrone again? Why this particular track? Because it’s great!”

Klimørh said: “I’m very happy that we’re revisiting the unholy third Darkthrone album. For me, these are iconic songs that, years ago, opened my eyes to the musical and spiritual aspects of black metal. And Arthur, Ævil, on the occasion of your birthday, I wish you one hundred years, one hundred albums, and one hundred witches (not burned at the stake). Pass the bottle, reach for the knife!”

The band’s last and fifth full-length album, “Gorzkie Plony”, was unleashed on 22 September 2025 via Pagan Records. Order the album (CD/VINYL/MERCH): https://tinyurl.com/2j535tdw

In support of “Gorzkie Plony”, the band previously released singles and videos to “I-II-I-II” (Maanam cover) (watch video), “Koniugacja” (watch video / listen on Spotify) and “Nikt Nie Wie” (video).

The band described “Gorzkie Plony” as “a return to the spirit of our inaugural work”. The album was mixed and mastered by Haldor Grunberg at Satanic Audio. The artwork was completed by JRMR. The album also includes session drums by Anti-Christian (Doedsvangr, Beaten to Death, ex-Tsjuder).
